I am a photographer by trade. I went to school for photography and couldn't get enough so I am still in school, pursuing an MFA, although my medium seems to be currently in limbo.
I have avidly been photographing musicians for quite a while now and the drive to do this never seems to dissipate. I like to blur the lines between a commercial photo and an artistic photo. I think it's the thrill of the extemporaneous photo shoot with 0 control over lighting and models in conjunction with the gratification of being able to combine two of my favourite things, that keeps me smitten with this practice.
As a photographer I have always been drawn to shooting the landscape. I use the word landscape loosely and in an atypical way. I prefer the aesthetics in urban and industrial exteriors and interiors, although after a lot of recent travel I am gaining a huge appreciation for the outdoors (as seen through the window of a car). I really enjoy finding the abstract aesthetics in everything I come across.
My love for the plastic camera has kept every aspect of visual art in perspective for me and made being inspired to shoot on a daily basis way too easy. I never stop being excited about what it is that I am creating... it also seems to keep me out of trouble (for the most part).
